Cecil Child Parenting Magazine - Writer Guidelines

Winter 2006 - Winter Sports (submissions due by October 1st)
We need 5-7 parenting articles.
Parenting Article topic ideas:
* Anything Winter Sports Related
* Destressing
* Holiday tips
We do accept reprints, especially if you add a sidebar that offers resources in the Cecil County, Maryland area. For first rights or reprint articles with a sidebar related to Cecil County, we are currently offering $10. Standard reprint articles are $5.

Column Ideas:
* Sports or after school activities- You must be able to tie this in to Cecil County. (A sidebar with Cecil County info is fine.)
* NEW Crafty Kids - we need a craft column for every issue. Must include a photo or attractive illustration of the finished craft.
We pay $10 per column for first print and online rights with archive rights. For reprints, please contact us to discuss payment amount. Columnists should be able to write six columns a year.

Content for Children needed in every issue:
* Short story under 800 words (Should tie in to issue theme)-$10 for first rights and $5 for reprints.
* Rebus story with illustrations-$10 for first rights and $5 for reprints.
* Theme related coloring sheets-$5.
* Unique puzzles (Word searches and word scrambles are done in house)-$5
* Poetry-We cannot pay for poetry, but are happy to accept a few pieces for each issue.

January 2007 - Animal Babies (submissions due by November 1st)

March 2007 - Health and Special Needs(submissions due by January 1st)

May 2007 -Summer Fun (submissions due by March 1st)

July 2007 -Party Planning (submissions due by May 1st)

September 2007 - Back to School (submissions due by July 1st)

For all stories, articles, coloring pages, poems, and other content, we ask for first print and online rights, with the understanding that we archive back issues of the magazine online. Please do not submit to another publication until after your piece has appeared in Cecil Child. We will also consider reprints. Send submissions to admin@cecilchild.com.
